APHL 2019 Annual Meeting

APHL 2019 will be held at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO from June 3-6, 2019.  The meeting will consist of a member assembly, keynote session, plenary and breakout sessions, roundtables and exhibits all over the course of four days.

This year’s meeting will discuss issues ranging from environmental issues to emerging infectious diseases and emergency preparedness, from informatics to food safety, knowledge management and global health. 
 
APHL 2019 is the APHL annual membership meeting. Attendees include state, county, city and local public health lab directors, environmental and agricultural lab directors, senior laboratory staff, government and private laboratory personnel, and others interested in laboratory issues.

APHL 2019 will be preceded by four pre-conference workshops on Monday morning, June 3. Registration is separate and details will follow.

Remember - this meeting will start on Monday and end on Thursday.

Advanced registration through APHL is required. Registration is now open.

Conference registration fee: $650/member, $795/Non-Member, $200/Student

Four pre-conference workshops will be offered on Monday morning, June 3. There is an additional cost of $125 each and you may only take one.

Continuing Education Credits
 
APHL is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences through the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) P.A.C.E.® program. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 15.0 contact hours by attending the entire conference. Attendance rosters must be signed for each attended session for which credit is requested and the P.A.C.E.® certificate must be signed and certified by APHL staff at the registration booth at the end of your time at the conference.

Hotel

This year's meeting will be held entirely in one hotel, the St. Louis Union Station Hotel. The former city train station is now a grand hotel and convention facility. Room blocks are available at both the St. Louis Union Station Hotel and the Drury Inn St. Louis at Union Station which is one block away. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance and more are only a short 15 minute walk or couple light rail stops further downtown.

APHL has negotiated a block of rooms at the rate of $169.00 single/double (plus tax) per night at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel and $159.00 per night at the Drury Inn. There are a limited number of rooms at the 2019 federal per diem ($133.00) at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel only. These rates will be filled on a first come, first served basis. These rates are valid until May 1, 2019 or until the block is filled. This room block may fill up early so be sure to register as soon as possible. Travel

The meeting will begin on Monday, June 3 at 1:30pm and conclude on Thursday, June 6 at 12:30pm. There will be four pre-conference workshops on Monday morning, June 3 from 8:00am-11:30am. Please plan your arrival and departure times accordingly.

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is serviced by all major airlines.

The hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the airport. The hotels do NOT offer complimentary shuttle service. Options include Go Best Airport Shuttle, Metro Link Light Rail, taxies or Uber. Shuttle fare starts at $25, taxis cost around $30-40. The Metro Link Red line takes about 20 minutes, has a stop right next to the hotel (Union Station) and costs less than $5. There is also an Amtrak station in St. Louis.

There are no additional sessions for this event.
