Coaching and are both conversation-based interventions. The basics of conversation include
the communications processes of speaking and listening, as well as making statements and
asking questions. Generally, in our American/Western culture, we learn from childhood how to
make statements and assert our opinions. However, we are somewhat less skilled at asking
questions. This webinar provides structure for the designed coaching conversation by focusing
on how we listen, make statements, and ask questions. The information and practice will
enhance participants’ competency in listening, speaking and questioning. Participants will have
the opportunity to strengthen leadership and communication skills via mentoring and coaching.
At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
Discuss the benefits of asking great questions in the context of mentoring and coaching
Frame and write effective questions
Use powerful questions in mentoring/coaching conversations
