The 2016 APHL Annual Meeting and Tenth Government Environmental Laboratory Conference will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center, Albuquerque, NM from June 6-9, 2016. The headquarters hotel is the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel which is connected to the across from the convention center. The meeting will consist of a member assembly, keynote session, plenary and breakout sessions, roundtables and exhibits all over the course of four days.

This year’s meeting will discuss issues ranging from environmental issues to emerging infectious diseases and emergency preparedness, from informatics to food safety, newborn screening and global health.

The Annual Meeting is the APHL annual membership meeting. Attendees include state, county, city and local public health lab directors, environmental and agricultural lab directors, senior laboratory staff, government and private laboratory personnel, and others interested in laboratory issues.

The Annual Meeting will be preceded by 2 pre-conference workshops on Monday morning, June 6. Registration is separate and details will follow.

Remember - this meeting will start on Monday and end on Thursday.
 
 
Registration

Advanced registration through APHL is required. Registration is now open.

Conference registration fee: $525/member, $650/Non-Member, $150/Student

Pre-conference workshops will be offered on Monday morning, June 6. There is an additional cost of $95.

Continuing Education Credits
 
APHL is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences through the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) P.A.C.E.® program. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 14.0 contact hours by attending the entire conference. Attendance rosters must be signed in each attended session that credit is requested for and the P.A.C.E.® certificate must be signed and certified by APHL staff at the registration booth at the end of your time at the conference.

The headquarters hotel is the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel. It is located in downtown Albuquerque and is within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops.

The conference room rate is $149.00/single or double (plus tax) per night. There are a limited number of federal per diem rate rooms. Reservations may be made by calling 1.888.421.1442 or 505.842.1234. Be sure to mention you are attending the “APHL Annual Meeting” to receive this rate. You may also reserve online. These rates are valid until May 6, 2016 or until the block is filled. This block may fill up quickly so be sure to make your reservation early. This rate is available three days before and after the meeting based on availability.  One night’s deposit is due when making a reservation but is refundable providing your cancellation is made more than 24 hours before check-in. There is a fee for early departure. Check-in is 3:00pm and check-out is Noon.


Travel

The meeting will begin on Monday, June 6 at 1:30pm and conclude on Thursday, June 9 at 12:30pm. There will be two pre-conference workshops on Monday morning, June 6 from 8:00am-11:30am. Please plan your arrival and departure times accordingly.

The Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is serviced by all major airlines.

The Hyatt is approximately 6 miles (10 minutes depending on traffic) from the airport. The hotel does NOT offer complimentary shuttle service. Sunport Shuttle runs from the airport to the hotel for $11 one way/$20 roundtrip (505.883.4966, www.sunportshuttle.com). Taxis cost approximately $18-20. The Amtrak station is 5-6 blocks from the hotel. Valet parking is available for $20 per day and nearby self-parking is available for $16 per day.
