In this program, a case study format will be used to present challenging and unusual morphologic hematology cases. Each case study will correlate clinical data, CBC results, peripheral blood findings and flow cytometry data with patient diagnosis. Discussion will include WHO classification of leukemia, myelodysplastic disorders and myeloproliferative neoplasms.
At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Correlate peripheral blood smear findings with hematologic data.
- Identify diagnostic criteria used in characterizing leukemias, myelodysplastic disorders and myeloproliferative neoplasms.

Who Should Attend
This intermediate-level program is appropriate for laboratory professionals working in hematology and academic settings.
Continuing Education Credit
The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded 1.0 contact hour. ASCLS P.A.C.E.® is accepted by the ASCP Board of Certification and all states including Florida and California as an approved provider of continuing education. ASCLS is an approved provider with CE Broker for Florida licensees and will submit attendance to CE Broker.
To receive continuing education credit, you must view the program and complete the online evaluation by November 10, 2013.
