The InFORM 2017 Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orange County Hotel in Garden Grove, CA. It is located within easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
The Integrated Foodborne and Outbreak Response and Management (InFORM) Conference will bring together laboratorians, epidemiologists and environmental health specialists involved with foodborne and enteric diseaseoutbreak response. This meeting will concentrate on progress made in detecting and investigating foodborne illnesses through molecular subtyping and new investigational tools. Issues discussed will include surveillance and outbreak detection of enteric diseases, with a focus on those caused by contaminated foods, water and animals. The tagline and theme for the InFORM 2017 conference is, “The Changing Landscape of Enteric Disease Surveillance, Outbreak Detection and Response.” Plenary sessions will focus on the combined efforts of our public health networks and agencies in food safety. Sessions will cover domestic and international outbreak investigations by state and local laboratorians in cooperation with federal partners at CDC, USDA, and FDA. Technical sessions will explain the latest software improvements, the validation of whole genome sequencing laboratory and analytical platform protocols, and regional/national surveillance tools.
Optional troubleshooting and programmatic sessions on Monday afternoon and sunrise sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings will allow attendees to engage in one-on-one interactions with experts from CDC and corporate partners.
Participants include Public Health laboratory personnel who are part of the PulseNet network, foodborne disease epidemiologists involved with OutbreakNet, environmental health professionals, personnel from the Centers for Diseases Control & Prevention, US Food and Drug Administration, the US Department of Agriculture and international Public Health agencies.
Registration Fee: $175.00 for full conference; $75 for one day. Payment may be made by credit card or check.

Continuing Education Credits
APHL is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences through the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) P.A.C.E.® program. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 14.5 contact hours by attending the entire conference. Attendance rosters must be signed in each attended
session that credit is requested for and the P.A.C.E.® certificate must be signed and certified by APHL staff at the registration booth at the end of your time at the conference.
Continuing education credits including CNE, CME, CEU, CHES, CPH and RACE credits for veterinarians will also be available for attendees from CDC.
The meeting begins on Monday, Nov. 6 with a Welcome Session from 6:30pm-7:30pm followed by a welcome get together. The sessions continue approximately 8:15am-5:15pm on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 8:30am-5:30pm on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and 8:30am-12:30pm on Thursday, Nov. 9. Optional open sessions will be available on Monday, Nov. 6 from 1:00pm-5:30pm. A first poster session and a Tech Expo highlighting some of the software tools the programs and our corporate partners have developed will be held over a sponsored lunch on Tuesday. The second poster session and reception will take place Wednesday evening. Sunrise sessions will take place on Tuesday and
Wednesday, Nov. 7 & 8 from 7:30am-8:15am. Please plan your arrival and departure times accordingly.
There are three major airports serving the Orange County area – Orange County/John Wayne Airport (SNA) (13 miles/15-25 minutes), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (35 miles/40-60 minutes) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) (18 miles/20-30 minutes). The conference room rate is the 2018 federal per diem rate - $173.00 single/double (plus tax) per night
